A Message From the Tax Collector's Office:
Taxes are due: February
1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st. There
is a 10-day grace period for receipt of quarterly property tax payments. If payment is received after the grace period has
interest will accrue at a rate of 8% per annum on
the first $1,500.00 and 18% on amounts in excess of $1,500.00 from due date to date of payment received by Collector. A
penalty of 6% will be charged on any tax delinquency exceeding $10,000.00 if not paid by the end of the calendar year.
Due to COVID 19, Borough Hall offices remain closed to the public. NO IN-PERSON
OR CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PAYMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES. In addition to the online payment option (see link above),
you may remit payment by check via US mail, via the Tax Collector’s dropbox (located in the main lobby to the right
of the elevator, below the directory board), or through online bill payment from your bank. Please be aware that payments
initiated by your bank should be scheduled in advance to allow sufficient time for processing and mailing. Payments are credited
to your account as of the date received by the Borough. If you are mailing a check and prefer a receipted bill, please include the entire bill and
a stamped self-addressed envelope with your payment.
Direct Withdrawal of Property Taxes:
Many residents have already enrolled in Alpine’s Direct Withdrawal program
for tax payments. This service assures that your payment will be received in a timely manner and provides a safe and secure
way to pay your taxes without the worry of mail delivery or coming to the Borough Hall to pay in person. Quarterly payments
will be debited from your checking account on the payment due dates.
If you would like to enroll in this program, please click below to complete the Direct
Withdrawal Authorization Form and return it to the Tax Office along with a voided check.
