Preserving and protecting the environment - The Alpine Environmental Commission (EC) is a group of volunteers who work to preserve and protect the environment of our borough by advising and supporting local government and acting as watchdogs for environmental problems and opportunities. We inform elected officials and the public, serve on committees, research issues, develop educational programs, and advocate for sound environmental policies.
Members of the Alpine EC have and continue to address many issues including open space preservation, wetlands protection, recycling and litter, environmental cleanups, energy efficiency, and beautification. In accordance with the borough’s tree ordinance, the EC routinely conducts inspections prior to the removal of any regulated tree. The Alpine EC is a member of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) and a 'Sterling' Tree City USA' community.
